Sound absorption
As the largest unobstructed surface in a room, the ceiling is particularly well suited to sound absorption. The sound absorption class is determined in accordance with EN ISO 11654, based on measurements carried out in accordance with EN ISO 354 in accredited laboratories.
It serves as a parameter for acoustic designers to calculate the effect of a product on a room’s reverberation time.
Carbon footprint
The carbon footprint represents the total CO₂ emissions generated throughout a product’s life cycle (from manufacture through to operation and recycling/disposal).
It is calculated by independent institutes and summarised in an ‘Environmental Product Declaration’ (EPD). Barcol-Air is working specifically to reduce the proportion of high-emission materials such as aluminum and other metals.
By way of comparison: the production of 1 kg of aluminum releases approximately 16 kg of CO₂.
